copper and copper alloy characteristics and uses

copper

copper is copper simple substance, because its color is purple red and named. Copper is industrial pure copper, its melting point is 1083 ℃, no isomorphic transformation, relative density is 8.9, about 15% heavier than ordinary steel. It has a rose red, purple after the formation of oxide film on the surface, so it is generally called copper. Copper has excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, ductility and corrosion resistance. Mainly used in the production of generators, busbars, cables, switchgear, transformers and other electrical equipment and heat exchangers, pipes, solar heating device flat collector and other thermal equipment.

chromium zirconium copper

chromium zirconium copper (CuCrZr) chemical composition (mass fraction)%( Cr:0.1-0.8, Zr:0.3-0.6) hardness (HRB78-83) conductivity 43 ms/m softening temperature 550 ℃. Chromium zirconium copper has good electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, high hardness, wear resistance, explosion resistance, crack resistance and high softening temperature.

Tin Bronze

Bronze with tin as the main alloying element. Tin content is generally between 3 ~ 14%, mainly used for the production of elastic elements and wear parts. The tin content of deformed tin bronze does not exceed 8%, and sometimes phosphorus, lead, zinc and other elements are added.

Common grades are QSn4-3,QSn4.4-2.5,QSn7-O.2,ZQSn10,ZQSn5-2-5,ZQSN6-6-3, etc. Tin bronze is a non-ferrous metal alloy with small casting shrinkage, which can be used to produce castings with complex shapes, clear contours and low air tightness requirements. Tin bronze is very corrosion resistant in the atmosphere, sea water, fresh water and steam, and is widely used in steam boilers and marine parts. Phosphorus-containing tin bronze has good mechanical properties and can be used as wear-resistant parts and elastic parts of high-precision machine tools. Leaded tin bronze is commonly used as wear parts and sliding bearings. Zinc-tin bronze can be used as high gas-tight castings.

Brass

Brass is an alloy composed of copper and zinc. If only composed of copper, zinc brass is called ordinary brass. Brass is often used in the manufacture of valves, water pipes, air conditioning inside and outside the machine connecting pipe and radiator. Brass has strong wear resistance. Special brass is also called special brass. It has high strength, high hardness and strong chemical resistance. And the mechanical properties of cutting processing is also more prominent.

Special Brass

Special Brass is formed by adding aluminum, silicon, manganese, lead, tin and other elements to the copper-zinc alloy. Such as lead brass, tin brass, aluminum brass, silicon brass, manganese brass and so on. Lead brass has excellent cutting performance and good wear resistance. It is widely used in the manufacture of watch parts, bearing shells and bushings by casting. Tin brass has good corrosion resistance and is widely used in the manufacture of marine parts. Aluminum in aluminum brass can improve the strength and hardness of brass and improve its corrosion resistance in the atmosphere. Aluminum brass is used to manufacture corrosion-resistant parts. Silicon in silicon brass can improve the mechanical properties of copper, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, silicon brass is mainly used in the manufacture of marine parts and chemical machinery parts.

aluminum bronze

aluminum content is generally not more than 11.5%, sometimes also add the right amount of iron, nickel, manganese and other elements, to further improve the performance. Aluminum bronze can be strengthened by heat treatment, its strength is higher than that of tin bronze, and its high temperature oxidation resistance is also better. It has high strength and good wear resistance. It is used for screws, nuts, copper sleeves, sealing rings, etc. with high strength, and wear-resistant parts. The outstanding feature is its good wear resistance.

aluminum bronze containing iron and manganese elements has high strength and wear resistance, can improve hardness after quenching and tempering, has good high temperature corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance in the atmosphere, fresh water and sea water corrosion resistance is very good, machinability is acceptable, welding is not easy to fiber welding, hot pressure processing is good.

phosphor bronze

is mainly used as wear parts and elastic elements. Copper alloy containing 2% ~ 8% tin, 0.1~0.4 phosphorus, and copper. Phosphor bronze has higher corrosion resistance, wear resistance, impact does not occur sparks. Used for medium speed and heavy load bearings, working at high temperature of 250 ℃. It has the characteristics of self-aligning, insensitive to deflection, uniform bearing force, high bearing capacity, radial load at the same time, self-lubricating without maintenance, etc. Tin phosphor bronze is a kind of alloy copper, has good electrical conductivity, is not easy to heat, to ensure safety and has a strong fatigue resistance. The hard-wired electrical structure of the jack reed of tin-phosphor bronze has no rivet connection or friction-free contact, which can ensure good contact, good elasticity and smooth insertion. The alloy has excellent mechanical processing performance and chip forming performance, can quickly shorten the processing time of parts.
